PRO: Edwards was signed to the Lions active roster on October 17, 2007. He spent training camp with the Vikings and was released September 2, 2007, being claimed by the Giants on the same day. He was released by the Giants September 8, 2007. Initially signed as an undrafted rookie free agent prior to the 2005 season by the Vikings.

2007: Appeared in five games for the Lions, setting a career high with 10 tackles (seven solo) against Dallas (12/9). Finished the season with 17 tackles (13 solo), three passes defensed and eight special teams tackles.


• Made two special teams tackles at Arizona (11/11) in his first action since signing with the Lions.
• Inactive vs. the New York Giants (11/18), against Green Bay (11/22) and at Minnesota (12/2).
• Recorded a career-high in tackles with 10 (seven solo) vs. Dallas (12/9).
• Had three tackles (three solo) and a pass defensed at San Diego (12/16).
• Made one tackle and two passes defensed against Kansas City (12/23). Also had two special teams tackles. 
• Had three tackles (two solo) to finish the season at Green Bay (12/30).

2006: Had second NFL season end prematurely after suffering a season-ending arm injury against Dallas in the preseason (8/31).

2005: Returned first career interception 51 yards for a touchdown on Monday Night Football (11/21).

Personal
• Had 14 receiving, 2 punt return and 1 kickoff return for touchdowns at Chapel Hill High.
• 3-time all-conference selection in basketball.

College
• Four year player at NC State, where he played CB, WR and returned punts.
• Named Most Outstanding Defensive Player after 2004 season.
• Started all 11 games at CB as a senior and led the team with 3 interceptions.
• Played basketball as a freshman and sophomore.
